Located just west of Fort Lauderdale, Plantation is a medium-sized city in Broward County with a population of approximately 93,000. The city's name comes from the previous part-owner of the land, the Everglades Plantation Company, and their attempts to establish a rice plantation in the area. With its tranquil neighborhoods, thousands of trees surrounding the city, lots of coffee shops, parks and a growing corporate presence, Plantation is conveniently located near the Florida Turnpike, I-595, Ft. Lauderdale International Airport, Port Everglades and just 20 minutes away from the beaches.
